Signs your vents need cleaning

If your dryer is taking a longer time than it used to and your clothes are not drying properly, it could be time to clean those vents. You may also find lint backing up into the dryer or lint left on clothing. These are signs your vents need cleaning.

We can replace foil flexible hoses (which can easily bend, restricting airflow) and PVC piping and plastics (which can cause lint to accumulate) with rigid metal duct. The metal and other materials we use (semi-rigid metal duct and metal foil tape) are approved by the National Fire Protection Association and Consumer Product Safety Commission. If your venting runs over 35′, we can install a booster fan to help push the lint out.

What could cause my vents to clog?

All dryer vents need to be cleaned on a regular basis. In addition to the normal lint build-up, a number of items get left in pockets and find their way into the ducts:  nails and screws, food, dryer sheets, socks, and more.

If you have pets, you may need cleaning more frequently.

There are a number of outside forces that can play a part as well. For example, rodents and birds may get into the vents and build nests – which will cause major airflow problems in your system.
